James Clavin was leaving a nightclub in the Soulard neighborhood near 1535 South 8th Street, on January 26, 2012 at 2:30 AM. Witnesses stated that the victim was coming to the aid of a female stranger that was involved in a verbal altercation with several unknown males. Witnesses stated several shots were heard moments after the verbal altercation started. Witnesses found victim Clavin on the ground, shot numerous times. The victim died as a result of these injuries. The unknown suspect(s) fled the scene on foot.
