On September 5, 2014, at 10:00 p.m., police were called for the victim of a shooting occurred at the intersection of Gravois and Ohio. Upon arrival, the officers observed the victim on the ground of a parking lot suffering from gunshot wound. The victim was unresponsive. Witnesses reported seeing the victim on the parking lot talking with several black males. A single shot was heard and a small compact vehicle that was parked on the lot previously quickly drove off. The victim was then observed lying on the ground. The other subjects that were on the lot with the victim fled the scene. On September 7, 2014, Victim Welch died as a result of his injuries.
